Annette Werndl

Color is My Music

The first book devoted to a virtuoso of color.

An artist on the rise, Annette Werndl has drawn international attention for her abstract, expressive paintings. Annette Werndl: Color is my Music collects her recent works, many of them inspired by sojourns in the United States and by jazz, blues, and pop.

Born in Germany in 1956, Werndl worked as an interior designer before pursuing a career as an artist. Influenced by abstract expressionism and color field paintings, she developed a pictorial language informed by extensive travel. Her work has appeared in galleries and exhibitions all over the world, including the Jelmoni Gallery in Piacenza, Italy; the Colorida Art Gallery in Lisbon, Portugal; and Galerie G. in Judenburg, Austria. She held a residency at Mana Contemporary, Jersey City in the spring of 2022. Annette Werndl presents the artist’s harmonious color schemes to a new audience.
