The Gregory Gift

A visually exquisite publication detailing a one-of-a-kind collection, as showcased by its accompanying exhibition at The Frick.

Ranging from Limoges enamels to Saint-Porchaire ware to Rosalba Carriera pastels, The Gregory Gift is a lavishly illustrated presentation of the twenty-eight works of art bequeathed to The Frick Collection by the titular collector.

Zurich-born Alexis Gregory (19362020) was the son of Russian immigrants whose studies eventually brought him to the United States. Over the course of his life and career, he forged a legacy of elegance as a noted art publisher who served on the committees of institutions such as the Metropolitan Museum of Art, Sotheby’s, and Harvard University.

Presenting the Alexis Gregory Gift for the first time, this beautiful publication provides illuminating insights into Gregory’s collection, cataloging his fine and decorative works of art in detail.
