Der Mucha

An Initial Suspicion

The first book to focus on Reinhard Mucha and his oeuvre.

A pathbreaking contemporary artist, Reinhard Mucha has been transforming sculpture, photography, and installation art for decades. Noted for sculptures that incorporate found objects such as chairs and signs, the artist is also known for his interest in German history. He was part of the Venice Biennale in 1990 and exhibited at the documenta X in 1997.

Der Mucha documents the artist’s first major exhibition since 1987, with a focus on installation art. Showcasing over sixty works, such as his contribution to the Venice Biennale, the book reveals Mucha’s ingenious command of both craft and history. Created in close cooperation with the artist, this catalog accompanies an exhibition of the same name at the Kunstsammlung Nordrhein-Westfalen in Düsseldorf, the city where Mucha lives.
