Brian L. Fisher is curator of entomology at the California Academy of Sciences, San Francisco. He has explored ant diversity in Madagascar since 1993. In 2004, he created the Madagascar Biodiversity Center dedicated to insect biodiversity, conservation, and education. He is coauthor of Ants of Africa and Madagascar.
