Marguerite Block

Marguerite Block received a PhD in history from Columbia University, expanding her dissertation into the book The New Church in the New World, published in 1932, which remains the most comprehensive history of the Church of the New Jerusalem in print. Block was integral in the founding of Columbia University’s religion department and edited the journal Review of Religion. She was also curator of Columbia’s Bush Collection of Religion and Culture.
