The Standard Edition was published by the Foundation beginning in 1900 and has become the most widely used English translation of the writings of Swedish theologian Emanuel Swedenborg (1688-1772). Under the direction of William Ross Woofenden, the complete casebound set has been redesigned and printed in a more readable format with a large, elegant typeface. These volumes are compatible with, but not exact duplicates of, the previous printings. The translation has not been materially altered. At present, the Redesigned Standard Edition is the only complete set of Swedenborg’s writings available.
