New Plays Selection 2012, commissioned by the Hong Kong Arts Festival Santayana Li’s Journey to Home is an intensely poignant story based on the playwright’s own youth. Twenty years ago, Li’s mother left her family – Li, her father and her two elder sisters. Journey to Home charts the youngest daughter’s journey to Taiwan to find her mother after turning 18. That unforgettable experience was also the first time that the mother and daughter spent time together in two decades. This is a moving, thought-provoking coming-of-age story.
