Catalogue of Scandinavian Books in the British Library Printed Before 1801
Distributed for British Library
This comprehensive three-volume catalogue represents the first time a major library has produced a record that systematically details all of its holdings of early printed materials from the Scandinavian countries. In addition to material printed in Scandinavia, this catalogue also includes books printed elsewhere in the languages of Scandinavia. The resulting collection of over 11,000 entries includes books, periodicals and pamphlets, as well as maps and printed music.
Compiled over many years through the tireless efforts of editor Peter Hogg, this impressive collection also includes an author catalogue, complete with detailed descriptions, and is supplemented by indexes of titles, printers and publishers, subjects and provenance. It is a reference tool that is sure to prove invaluable for libraries, booksellers, and researchers alike.
