Checklist for CA Authors

 • Length: Be sure your manuscript meets length requirements: major papers should be no longer than 12,000 words, research reports no longer than 5,000 words, forum papers no longer than 7,500 words, and discussion items no longer than 800 words. Text, references, and endnotes all count toward the word limit.
 • Page numbering: Please number the pages of your submission.
 • Tables: Tables must be in Word or text format; because they must be edited, they cannot be pasted into the paper as image files.
 • Figures: The Editorial Manager system will create a pdf of your paper to be sent to the editor and to reviewers. Please check the pdf of your paper carefully, and confirm that all figures are readable and complete, and that every figure mentioned in your paper is included and labeled.
 • References: All citations in your text must have a reference in your list, and all references in your list must be cited in your text. References must conform to CA style, which can be found in the Style Guide:
 • Reviewers: Please make a list of potential reviewers with their email addresses, and have it handy before starting the submission process. The system will give you the chance to enter reviewers you suggest, and those you oppose. These suggestions are very helpful to the editor, and can help your paper move quickly into review.
