About the Editors

of A Student’s Guide to Writing College Papers by Kate L. Turabian

Gregory G. Colomb (1951-2011) was professor of English at the University of Virginia and the author of Designs on Truth: The Poetics of the Augustan Mock-Epic.

Joseph M. Williams (1933-2008) was professor in the Department of English Language and Literature at the University of Chicago and the author of Style: Toward Clarity and Grace.

Colomb and Williams created the curriculum of “The Little Red Schoolhouse” writing course at the University of Chicago more than thirty years ago. They are (with Wayne C. Booth) the authors of the best-selling guide The Craft of Research, as well as the editors of Kate L. Turabian’s A Manual for Writers of Research Papers, Theses, and Dissertations, now in an eighth edition.
