James Attlee is editor at large for the Press, acquiring and developing works of general non-fiction by authors based in the United Kingdom. James was previously the Sales and Rights Director for Tate Publications, where he was closely involved in the development of the Tate list. Before coming to the Tate, he headed the London office of Prestel Publishing, the Munich-based art publisher. In the 1990s, James ran his own business, Attlee Art Books, providing distribution and publishing consultation to independent art publishers and art institutions from the UK and Europe. He is the author many articles and three books, two of them published by Chicago: Isolarion: A Different Oxford Journey and Nocturne: A Journey in Search of Moonlight.
